Kitchen and catering refrigeration, repaired and maintained.
Kitchen fridge failing mid service? Call and we will prioritise it.
Call 07940 953486 nowCommercial kitchens are the hardest environment refrigeration has to live in. Ambient temperatures sit high, condensers pull in grease-laden air, doors open constantly, and equipment gets knocked about during service. Kitchen refrigeration therefore fails more often than anything else we look after, and almost always for reasons that a service visit would have caught.
Grease on a condenser coil is the classic. It behaves like insulation, the unit cannot reject heat, the compressor runs longer and hotter, and eventually it either trips out or dies. Degreasing condensers on a kitchen schedule is genuinely the highest value thing you can do for the life of the equipment.
After that it is door gaskets and hinges. A saladette lid that no longer seals or a door that has dropped on its hinge will run the compressor continuously and ice up the evaporator. Both are cheap parts and quick fixes when they are caught early.
We work on all the common catering brands and will give you a straight repair or replace answer with the costs of each. Put the kitchen on a planned schedule with a refrigeration contract, or call 07940 953486 for a breakdown.

FAQs
Frequently asked questions
Why does kitchen refrigeration fail so often?
High ambient temperature, grease-laden air fouling the condenser, constant door opening and physical knocks. Regular condenser degreasing and gasket checks prevent most of it.
Can you attend during service hours?
We try to work around service where we can, and for a live kitchen with stock at risk we will prioritise the visit. Quiet period slots are usually easier for planned work.
Is it worth repairing an old prep counter?
Often yes if the cabinet body and insulation are sound. Compressors, fans, controllers and gaskets are all replaceable. We give you the repair cost against a replacement cost so you can decide.
Do you service ice machines?
Yes, including descaling and sanitising as well as the refrigeration side. Ice machines usually need more frequent visits than other kitchen equipment.
Can you cover the whole kitchen on one contract?
Yes. Every refrigerated item plus any kitchen or front of house air conditioning can sit on a single planned schedule.

Air Conditioning Not Cooling Properly
A unit that runs but never quite cools the room is one of the most common calls we get, and the cause is rarely the compressor.
Air Conditioning Blowing Warm Air
Warm air from a unit that should be cooling usually means either a settings mix-up or a refrigerant fault, and telling the two apart matters.
Air Con Leaking Water Indoors
Water appearing under or around an indoor unit is almost always a drainage problem rather than a refrigerant one, and it's often an easy fix.
Air Conditioning Smells Musty
A sour, damp smell when the AC kicks in is almost always biological growth on the indoor coil, not a fault with the refrigeration circuit itself.
Noisy Outdoor Air Conditioning Unit
Not all outdoor unit noises mean the same thing, and the type of noise usually points straight to the cause before an engineer even arrives.
Air Con Tripping the Electrics
When an air conditioning unit trips a breaker or RCD, the fault is almost always within the unit itself rather than the household wiring behind it.
