That makes it unusually sensitive to things that have nothing to do with the refrigeration itself. Overstocking above the load line breaks the air curtain. A door propped open on a hot delivery day dumps warm air across the front. A heater or a sunny shopfront changes the ambient the cabinet was designed for.
When we attend a warm cabinet, we check those first, then move to the mechanical causes: a dirty condenser, a partly iced evaporator from a defrost or probe fault, a failed fan motor breaking the air curtain, or a refrigerant leak. The fix is often cheap; finding the right cause is the skilled part.
Where a cabinet is genuinely worn out, we will say so. Older cabinets on obsolete refrigerants with no spares available are a false economy to keep repairing, and modern replacements use noticeably less energy, which matters when a multi-deck runs 24 hours a day.

Why is my multi-deck not holding temperature?

Do night blinds actually help?
Yes, significantly. Pulling night blinds down on open front cabinets after closing cuts the cooling load overnight, reduces energy use and gives the cabinet an easier recovery in the morning.
How often should display cabinets be serviced?
Quarterly or six-monthly for most shops. Cabinets run continuously and their condensers foul quickly in a retail environment with dust and packaging debris.
Can you get spares for older cabinets?
Often yes, but obsolete models and discontinued refrigerants can be a problem. We will tell you honestly if a cabinet is uneconomic to keep repairing.
